New 4 day per week 4 Year Old Class !

CHUM Co-op Preschool is pleased to offer a new program for our 4s students. As we all know, Kindergarten is a full day program. In order to make the transition from preschool to Kindergarten smoother for your child, CHUM is now offering a 4 day a week class for 4s students. Students enrolled in the 4PM class will meet Monday-Thursday from 12:30-3:00 pm.  All students must be 4 years old and potty trained by September 1, 2016 for the 2016-2017 school year.

We would like to stress that this is NOT a Young 5s based program, and CHUM will not follow a Young 5s based curriculum. This is still a preschool program, and it will follow the same philosophy and guidelines as the 3AM and 4AM classes.  CHUM has a developmentally appropriate curriculum and believes children learn best through play and hands-on activities.

Contact our Admissions Chairperson if you have further questions or would like to register.

What is a Co-op Preschool?

A co-op preschool provides an opportunity for parents to actively participate in the classroom with their children. Under the supervision of a qualified teacher, the children can move toward independence in their early educational experience. Parents act as teacher's aides, maintain the classroom, and assist in the preparation of daily materials and activities.

Parent participation outside the classroom is also essential to the success of a co-op preschool. Parents may be elected on the CHUM Co-op Preschool Board of Directors, attend field trips, and occasionally be asked to volunteer time and materials for a special activity or project. As a parent, your involvement is vital to the successful operation of the preschool.
